Learning to Swim // Part 1: What is the baptism in the Holy Spirit? (Pastor Daniel Stevens)
In the first message of Learning to Swim, Pastor Daniel Stevens emphasizes that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an invitation to live fully filled with God — not just experiencing Him from a distance. You don’t just dip your toes in; you jump into the deep end and actually learn how to stay in the water. God calls us to live continually empowered and led by His Spirit.
Throughout the Bible, the Spirit’s baptism is shown to be important and available — from prophecy in the Old Testament to Jesus’ teachings and the early Church in Acts. Pastor Daniel also highlights that being saved and being filled are different steps in the believer’s walk. The Holy Spirit is already moving in your life, but God has even more — and His promise of the Spirit is still for every believer today.
