What Are We Doing? // Part 7: Core Value 5 (Pastor Mike Jurek)
Pastor Mike Jurek brings Core Value #5 into focus: The church must raise up and release the next generation of pastors and leaders. The need for workers is as great as ever, and Jesus is still calling people to step forward. Our responsibility is to create opportunities, champion those who answer the call, and avoid becoming voices that discourage or wound emerging leaders. Every believer should remain ready and willing to go where God sends.
Pastor Mike emphasizes that ministry is rewarding but often difficult. Jesus prepared His followers for spiritual opposition, urging them to stand firm in the armor of God. Meanwhile, those who are not called to vocational ministry must avoid the “wolf” behaviors that damage leaders — biting, criticizing, or tearing down. Instead, we are invited to lift others up and take our own next step in discipleship, discovering the abundant life Jesus promised to those who run their race with Him.
