Fall 2024 Vision Series // Rise Up
In this second part of the Good Hope Vision series, Pastor Mike Stevens emphasizes the transformative power of a real relationship with God, urging believers to "Rise Up." Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:17, he explains that true faith should result in visible spiritual growth, much like how physical training leads to improvement. Just as a year at the gym without progress would be frustrating, a year walking with God without change makes no sense. Believers are called to be different, embodying Christ-like behavior daily, which not only improves their own lives but has the power to change the world.
Pastor Mike shares three key points to help followers rise into the person God created them to be: (1) See God as a Father who lovingly disciplines, (2) Be intentional about spiritual growth, and (3) Learn from life's pains and challenges. With scriptures like Ephesians 4:22-24 and James 1:2-4, he encourages listeners to shed the old self and embrace their new identity in Christ. The message closes with a call to take off negative traits such as anger and fear and put on virtues like love, grace, and faith.
